"And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God?" -- Thomas Jefferson
"And yet the same revolutionary belief for which our forbears fought is still at issue around the globe, the belief that the rights of man come not from generosity of the state but from the hand of God." -- John F. Kennedy
"Because of their belief that power had come from God to each individual, the Framers began the Constitution with the words 'we the people'" -- Newt Gingrich
"There's never been a nation like the United States, ever. It begins with the principles of our founding documents, principles that recognize that our rights come from God, not from our government." -- Marco Rubio

Illegal aliens steal trailer, and it is victim who is charged with crime
The elderly Wallace, who has no criminal record, didn't just helplessly lie there and watch them drive away. He called 911 and yelled at them to stop; but they ignored his alarm, almost running him over in the process.
He hastily fired two shots with his legally-owned-and-licensed gun at the pick-up, which resulted in wounding one of the men; and, like many upside-down judgments in Obama's America, it is he, not the criminals, who is now facing twelve felony counts, including four counts of attempted first degree murder. A conviction could give him life behind bars.
Even though both thieves are illegal aliens with prior arrest records--including driving without insurance or a license, fighting, trespassing, motor vehicle theft--and even though one of the hispanics confessed to the brazen theft and to nearly running down Wallace, neither have been charged with anything yet for this latest crime. They won't even be deported.
Neighbors don't understand Wallace's arrest and say he should instead be given an award for protecting the neighborhood.
Defending your property isn't a crime in Colorado unless, it seems, you defend it effectively by using a firearm. The officials in that state don't like citizens to protect themselves with firearms. Apparently, that is a greater crime than illegal trespassing or auto theft. That type of sick logic follows through, though, when you consider that in Denver, politicians have promoted sanctuary city policies to where illegal aliens are given more rights than citizens.
