Seneca, SC - Liberty Counsel's Mathew Staver will be joined by leading American historian David Barton for a one-night event called South Carolina Awake! on Jan. 21, 2011. It will take place from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EST at the Seneca Baptist Church in Seneca, SC.
The event is free and open to the public and the media, but tickets are required and can be obtained at www.LC.org under the Events link. Past events have had standing-room only crowds. Last year more than 27,000 people attended either on site or by live video conferencing.
David Barton will educate and inspire attendees about the Founding Era and America's rich Godly heritage. Barton will look at the lives of many of the Founders and religious leaders who participated in the birth and establishment of the most literate, most productive and most powerful nation on earth.
Mat Staver will follow Barton's presentation with a stirring message entitled, "Take Back America," in which he will talk about the challenges and opportunities we have to preserve the legacy of liberty.
Nonpartisan, real-time voter registration will be available. Presenters will also discuss what pastors and churches can do with respect to political campaigns and lobbying. Information will also be available. For more details, please call 800-671-1776.

Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel and Dean of Liberty University School of Law, commented:
"America faces many critical issues including social, economic and national security concerns. There is an awakening happening among ordinary people who are determined to preserve the liberty we have inherited and to have a voice in the future of America. A new movement of people committed to first principles is clearly in the making."
