Delegates Walk Out when Ahmadinejad accuses US Gov't Behind 9/11

He said that the US government staged the 9/11 attacks to protect Israel.

Ahmadinejad said that most people and politicians in the United States and abroad believed "that some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy and its grips on the Middle East, in order also to save the Zionist regime."

The US denounced his remarks on the 2001 attacks as "abhorrent and delusional."


Thirty-two EU delegates, including Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Costa Rica, backed the US in the walk-out.
